Model Policy

An acceptable use policy (AUP), is a set of rules that govern how your students are to use the technology you provide to them on and off campus. From network access to personal computers, the use of technology can be highly effective in the educational structure. However, inappropriate use can put your students at personal risk and make your network vulnerable to outside attacks. In consultation with the law firm Mickes O’Toole, SlateXP has developed a model acceptable use policy that can be used by your districts free of charge and help you maintain CIPA compliance. You should have this document reviewed by your own legal counsel to ensure it meets your specific requirements. Please feel free to download the PDF CIPA Model Acceptable Use Policy.

Please feel free to contact us at lross@slatexp.com if you would like additional information on the policy.
